Large-scale Russian Attacks Cut Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying penalties," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
