Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline including angels, fiends, and dark forces increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Viewers can expect discovering which characters will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
